Tibet
Tibet, the "Rooftop of the World" is situated in the mountainous Himalayas. The Buddhist Kingdom, now under Chinese rule, is a fascinating country with rich history and friendly locals.
Lhasa is the capital of Tibet and home to the Jokhanf Temple, Drepung Monastery and the scenic Nam-Tso lake on the Changtang plateau or Yarlung Valley.
It is highly recommended to travellers to Tibet to experience the Tibet Express Train. The journey from Beijing to Lhasa takes close to 50 hours, traversing over 4000km, and is spent on a modern express train especially designed to travel at altitude.
