This is an independent tour over 3 weeks which combines the best of Mexico, Guatemala & Cuba, experiencing history, culture and majestic scenery. Visit the Pyramids of the Sun & Moon in Mexico City and the architectual marvels of Palenque, Chichen Itza, and Tikal.  The cities provide the contrasts, from the colonial city of Oaxaca, international resort of Cancun, and villages of Lake Atitlan to the time-warped Havana, in Cuba.  It is a comprehensive insight into this region.

Mexico City & Mexico Touring

Situated just below the United States, Mexico is sandwiched between crystal Caribbean waters and the Pacific Ocean. The contrast from time-warped colonial towns to bustling cities are just the beginning. Explore ancient Mayan ruins in the Yucatan province, rife the train through the grand-scale Copper Canyon and sun yourself on stunning beaches.

Mexico City is the third largest and the most populated city on earth. The city's historic centre is the Plaza de la Constitucion (Zocalo), with its National Palace built on the entire eastern side of the plaza.  Further afield is the pretty colonial town of Taxco, the entire town declared a national monument. The scenic railway journey of the Copper Canyon in the north, connects Los Mochis on the Pacific coast with Chihuahua inland.

Mexico Beach Resorts

Mexico's beach resorts are scattered along all of its coastlines. The options are many, ranging from the very quaint, Spanish resorts of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas - otherwise referred to as "Los Cabos" on the Baja California Peninsula to the ultimate international resort of Cancun. Cancun, on the Yucatan Peninsula is well situated for visiting the surrounding ruins of Chichen Itza, Tulum and Xel-ha. Cozumel and Playa del Carmen near Cancun and on the shores of the Caribbean, are smaller resorts renowned for reef diving, snorkelling and other aquatic adventures. On the shores of the Pacific Coast, resorts include the well-known cruise ports of Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta.

A journey in Guatemala takes the traveller from the lush vegetation of the warm lowlands tot he cooler pine forests of the highlands. The central area is a region of lakes and volcanoes for which Guatemala is known throughout the world.

Costa Rica, Nicaragua & Panama

Costa Rica is a nature lover's paradise - a country of breathtakingly beautiful scenery, a wide variety of climates and a rich diversity of plants and animals. Nicaragua, the largest country in Central America is full of Colonial cities, mountain villages, pristine islands and jungle hamlets. Panama us instantly recognised for its famous canal. A natural land bridge that links Central and South America the wildlife and terrain of the continents meld to form the stiking contrasts of Panama.

Cuba

Cuba, the largest of the Caribbean islands, is a diverse mixture of sounds, rhythms, colours and dances, where African beats merge with Spanish rhythms to celebrate diversity.

Havana embodies all that is Cuban. In Havana, history, rhythm, melody and splendor all combine into a city that is truly unique. Less than a two-hour drive from Havana, the world-famous Varadero Beach stretches some 20kms along a narrow peninsula on the north coast of the island. Varadero is the ideal place for a holiday combining the beach and nightlife.

Santiago de Cuba, Cuba's second largest city, is a melting pot of numerous ethnic influences that combine to make a friendly, laid back atmosphere famous for its music, dancing and hospitality.

Pinar del Rio is a beautiful setting with many rivers and natural springs and offers a distinctively different experience from that found at the beach resorts. Cienfuegos, located on the Caribbean Sea is one of Cuba's most beautiful cities.

Trek Adventures - Open Age Tours in Latin America

Trek Adventures offer the excitement of a Trek tour, without the confines of age restrictions.  Destinations include Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentian and Brazil. Tours are small groups, maximum of 13, travelling in private vehicles and other forms of transport where appropriate. Accommodation varies but most of the tours are lodging based where more interesting lodges, cabins, ranches and hotels are selected. Tours in Patagonia re a mix of camping, lodging, cabins and ferries.
