Culture & Heritage
The Palace on Wheels is a link to India’s romantic past and provides the opportunity to travel and be treated as royalty once was. At the turn of the 20th century, during the days of the Raj, viceroys and maharajas built stately carriages for their personal use. Finished in opulent splendour, these carriages were a transportable Palace on Wheels. This journey travels from chaotic Delhi to the Pink City of Jaipur onward to the majestic Udaipur, the desert town of Jaisalmer the Taj Mahal in Agra before finishing in Delhi.
Back to India Tours
Looking like a scene from the 1,001 Nights as it rises from flat desert surrounds, Jaisalmer is a centre for nomadic tribes people.
Spend time in Udaipur, arguably the most romantic place in India, and enjoy the tranquil lake and great restaurants.
