This adventurous journey takes you to the foothills of the Himalaya. After spending some time in the enchanting city of Leh you’ll be transferred to your base camp. You’ll spend four days exploring the valleys in the area in search of wildlife, including the elusive snow leopard.

Travel to Ladakh, in the foothills of the Himalaya, to the city of Leh, located at just over 3,500m. The city sits on the historic Silk Road and is dotted with monasteries and stupas, framed by the jagged, snow-capped Himalayas. Spend time exploring the valleys in search of wildlife, and spot the elusive snow leopard.

This morning, board your flight to Leh, Ladakh. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is yours at leisure to acclimatise.
Leh is located at just over 3500m and some visitors do suffer from a little altitude sickness whether it be a headache, breathlessness or dizziness. Be sure to drink lots of ginger tea and remain hydrated. The city itself sits on the historic Silk Road and is dotted with humbling monasteries, stupas and crumbling mud houses. It is an enchanting city which is very easy to fall in love with and framed by the jagged snow-capped Himalayas.
Spend another day in Leh to acclimatise before starting your trek. You may also have the chance to participate in some conservation work in conjunction with the Snow Leopard Conservancy Trust.
This morning you'll be transferred to Jonchen, where you will begin your trek to your base camp for the next five nights. (B) (L) (D)
Over the next few days you'll have the chance to explore the surrounding valleys in search of wildlife accompanied by an English speaking naturalist guide, returning to your base camp each evening. (B) (L) (D)

This morning, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Leh and your onward flight to Delhi.
