    Fun, Freedom and Flexibility

Fun: What else would you expect when you bring together a group of adventurous, independent travellers from around the world? Whether you are cruising Las Vegas in your super-stretch limousine, mixing margaritas on the beach in Mexico, or sitting around a crackling campfire in the Canadian Rockies, a good time is guaranteed for all! The fun-loving Trek leaders are selected and trained to show you the best of each destination and with a plethora of adventurous activities, they will ensure that there is no shortage of things to see and do. We'll show you where it's at and what do... the rest is up to you!

Freedom: TrekAmerica believes that freedom and adventure go hand in hand and our tours are designed for independent travellers like you. With lots of freedom already built into the programme, our own best description is "tours for non-tourists". Hang out with the group when you want, or explore your own interests whenever the opportunity and mood arises. Options and choice are an integral part of TrekAmerica's style of travel. All of our activities are suitable for every level of experience and skill, but interests and budgets are as individual as our travellers themselves.

Flexibility: No two TrekAmerica tours are ever alike. Our "Flexible Night Stops" allow us to custom design each and every tour to the special interests of the individual and the group as a whole. Because our groups are flexible, diversions off the beaten path are not just a dream but reality. Your Trek leader has both the knowledge and TrekAmerica's 35 years of experience to help your group choose which way to go at that fork in the road. If you are the kind of person that always wants to know what's around the bend, all you have to do is hop on board and find out!

    Styles of Travel

Camping adventures throughout North America and Mexico for the 18 - 38 year olds. Over 60 unique itineraries from 3 days to nine weeks in length. Travel in private transportation with a local guide. Focusing on off the beaten path journeys TrekAmerica tours visit major cities but also include quirky small towns, hidden view points, remote tribal lands and beautiful National Parks.

    How do they get around?

Customised vehicles with air-conditioning, excellent stereo systems, and a trailer or storage area to maximise space and comfort. Every group is virtually self-sufficient and able to explore the backroads "where the crowds can't go". Maximum 13 passengers.

Central and South America use a variety of local vehicles that are best suited to the group size and local terrain. Typically they travel in 15-20 passenger vehicles, with all luggage carried on board. Other forms of local transport, including flights, local trains, horses and even canoes, may be employed to get into the heart of a particular region.

    TrekAmerica Crew

Each tour has a professional driver/guide. TrekAmerica is unique in that we guarantee 100% American tour leaders. Knowing the places we visit so well, from the best beaches in California to our favourite music haunts in New Orleans, is a huge reason behind our success. Our fun loving leaders will take care of all the planning and logistics, saving you time and money and putting you right in the heart of the action. With North America being such a vast continent lets not forget who'll be doing all the driving, ensuring you make the most of each incredible destination. Group participation is required on most itineraries.

    Where do they stay?

Campgrounds situated in stunning natural settings and near major city destinations. Nearly all the camps have full facilities such as showers, pools, shops, and laundromats. National Park's have pay showers, flush toilets and basic facilities.

Comfortable, clean and centrally located hotels and lodges for all non-camping nights.

    What about food?

Food Kitty - clients each contribute US$10 per day to a food kitty which covers three meals a day when camping. The kitty does not cover alcohol or soft drinks, meals when staying in hotels, or the occasional meal out at a restaurant. The group shares in the preparation and cooking of the food.

On lodging tours, all meals, except those included where specified, are taken in local restaurants and paid for individually.

    What does the price include?

Transportation, campsite fees, accommodation, National Park Fees, services of a experienced driver/guide, camping equipment (except sleeping bag), various attractions and activities.

Local Payment - payable on some South American itineraries, which off-set the cost of internal flights and park permits.

    No forced single supplements
