Depart Johannesburg for your comfortable three and a half hour road transfer to the Marataba Safari Lodge. On arrival you will be taken aback by how such a beautiful piece of wilderness has remained a secret for so long. The Marataba Reserve joins the Marekele National Park and together creates a 67,000 hectare protected area. This afternoon enjoy a game drive as you start to look for the Big Five and other animals that inhabit this beautiful reserve. (D)
Enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives exploring the Marataba Reserve looking for wildlife. The reserve is home to the largest colony of the endangered cape vultures in the world (including 800 breeding pairs). Between game activities relax at the lodge in your luxury canvas and stone tented suites. (B)(L)(D)
Enjoy morning and afternoon activities, including the opportunity to take a sunset cruise on the python dam on the ‘Miss Mara’ floating pontoon. Sunsets in this part of the world are spectacular and not to be missed. (B)(L)(D)
