The five gorgeous islands (including Ko Surin) that make up the Surin Islands Marine National Park sit 60km offshore, just 5km from the Thailand–Myanmar marine border. The islands’ sheltered waters also attract chow lair – sea gypsies live off the water's fauna and flora by using simple tools such as nets and spears to forage for food. (B)(L)(D)
The Similan Islands, or Nine Islands as they are also known because of their number, nestle in the Andaman Sea to the north of Phuket and are world-renowned among diving enthusiasts for underwater sightseeing. (B)(L)(D)
Hin Daeng which you visit in the early morning is one of the most dramatic dive sites in Thailand.
