Itinerary

The Best of Kenya & Tanzania trip includes return economy class airfares with Emirates leaving from Perth, pre-paid air taxes, accommodation, meals as indicated, sightseeing and scheduled game activities as specified, park fees, the services of an English speaking guide whilst on safari and transportation.

Prices from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and land only are available on request.

• Day 1: Australia – Dubai

• Day 2: Dubai – Nairobi

  Transfer to the Safari Park Hotel.

• Day 3: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve

  Depart Nairobi down the Rift Escarpment to the Mara Sopa Lodge. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.   

• Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve

  Morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara.   

• Day 5: Masai Mara – Great Rift Valley

  Drive across the Great Rift Valley and up the Mau Escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru for lunch. The waters here are often coloured shimmering flamingo pink, from thousands of the beautiful birds lining the shores. Afternoon game drive in Nakuru National Park. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.   

• Day 6: Great Rift Valley – Amboseli National Park

  After an early breakfast, depart for Amboseli with a picnic lunch. Afternoon game drive in Amboseli National Park. Overnight at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge.   

• Day 7: Amboseli National Park

  Early morning and afternoon game drives.  

• Day 8: Amboseli National Park – Lake Manyara

  Travel to Arusha for lunch. Drive across the Masai Steppe to the Great Rift Valley. The Lake Manyara Serena Lodge is perched high on the rim overlooking the park below.   

• Day 9: Lake Manyara – Serengeti

  Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Depart for the Serengeti Sopa Lodge, with some game viewing en-route.   

• Day 10: Serengeti National Park

  Morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti National Park.   

• Day 11: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

  Depart for Ngorongoro, stopping at Olduvai Gorge and its museum en-route. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue to the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.   

• Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater

  This morning descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and is also one of the world’s seven natural wonders. Enjoy a picnic lunch and return to the lodge in the late afternoon.

• Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater – Tarangire National Park

  Continue to Tarangire National Park, one of the best parks on the northern circuit for elephant viewing. Arrive at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive.   

• Day 14: Tarangire – Nairobi – Dubai

  Drive back to Arusha. After lunch, continue by road to Nairobi. Dinner at a local restaurant. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Dubai.  

• Day 15: Nairobi – Dubai

  Fly to Dubai, arriving early morning. Transfer to the Grand Moov Hotel.

• Day 16 & 17: Dubai

  Enjoy a half day City of Merchants tour and time at leisure. We recommend an optional sundowner dune desert safari!

• Day 18: Dubai – Australia

• Day 19: Arrive Australia

After Tour Option - Zanzibar Extension

4 Days/3 Nights from $655*

As an alternative to finishing your trip in Tarangire on day 14 you could extend your trip and finish off your holiday soaking up the culture, history and sun on the exotic spice island of Zanzibar.

Includes three nights accommodation, flights Kilimanjaro/Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam, airport transfers and meals as indicated.

• Day 14: Tarangire – Zanzibar

  Transfer to Kilimanjaro. Fly to Zanzibar. On arrival transfer to Stone Town.

• Day 15: Zanzibar

  Morning at leisure to discover Stone Town. Afternoon transfer to the east coast.

• Day 16: Zanzibar

  At liesure.

• Day 17: Zanzibar – Dubai

  Transfer to the airport for your flight to Dar es Salaam. Connect onto your flight to Dubai.

• Day 18: Dubai

  On arrival, transfer to the Grand Moov Hotel.

• Day 19: Dubai

  Morning at leisure. This afternoon enjoy a tour of this ‘City of Merchants'. Highlights include the Jumeirah Mosque, Bastakia wind-tower houses, Al Fahidi Fort, the Dubai Museum, and crossing the river by abra (local water taxi) to the gold and spice souks.

• Day 20: Dubai

  Day at leisure to explore.

• Day 21: Dubai – Australia

• Day 22: Arrive Australia
