Itinerary

 

    • Day 1: Cairo

      On arrival in Cairo, transfer to your hotel.

    • Day 2: Cairo

      Enjoy sightseeing at one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World – the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza – followed by Memphis and Sakkara. Memphis was once the capital of ancient Egypt and Sakkara yields a huge cemetery and active burial ground nearby.  (B) (L)

    • Day 3: Cairo – Luxor

      Transfer to Cairo airport for the onward flight to Luxor. On arrival transfer to the cruise boat to begin your Nile journey to Aswan. In the afternoon visit Luxor’s East Bank, including the Temple of Luxor and Temple of Karnak, an impressive complex of buildings dedicated to the Egyptian Pharaohs.  (B) (L) (D)

    • Day 4: Luxor – Esna

      Visit Luxor’s West Bank, one of the most awe-inspiring landscapes in Egypt. Today’s half-day tour includes the 18m high Colossi of Memnon statues, the limestone cliff-cut Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the Valley of Kings, home to the tombs of ancient Egyptian kings. After touring has finished, sail to the farming town of Esna.  (B) (L) (D)

    • Day 5: Esna – Kom Ombo

      Continue this morning to Edfu, 53km south of Esna. Visit the Temple of Edfu, one of Egypt’s best preserved relics. Sail to the agricultural town of Kom Ombo to dock for the night. In the afternoon visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, famous for its twin temples, aligned in perfect symmetry.  (B) (L) (D)

    • Day 6: Kom Ombo – Aswan

      Sail to Aswan, 40km away, and take a motorised felucca tour around the area. Stop at the once-central Elephantine Island,  Kitchener’s Island, the botanical gardens and then on to glimpse the pink granite mausoleum of Aga Khan. (B) (L) (D)

    • Day 7: Aswan – Abu Simbel – Cairo

      This morning’s excursion is to Abu Simbel where giant temples await inspection. These were only uncovered in 1813 having being buried in sand for centuries. On return to Aswan, disembark and depart for a tour of Aswan town. Touring includes the 3600m High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the majestic Temple of Philae. Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Cairo.  (B)

    • Day 8: Cairo

      Enjoy a full day of sightseeing, visiting the famous Egyptian Museum with over 100,000 antiquities, the Citadel of Saladin, the alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali and the old bazaar of Khan el Khalili.  (B) (L)

    • Day 9: Cairo

      Your tour ends today with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight.  (B)
