Overview for Thailand
Beyond the golden palaces and vibrant city streets of Thailand’s capital, there lies a spectacular land of ruined cities and colourful hill tribes. The rich cultural diversity of the Golden Triangle infuses the towns of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
Travel south to the stunning beaches, islands and turquoise waters of the Andaman Seas and the Gulf of Thailand.
Experiences not to be missed:
- CHIANG MAI - Ideally placed for exploring the hill tribes and jungles of the north, Chiang Mai lies along the Ping River surrounded by lush green hills. The city contains over 300 temples.
- SOUTHERN ISLANDS & BEACHES - Sip cocktails and sunbathe on the coconut-palm fringed southern islands of Phuket or Ko Samui. Phuket, Thailand’s largest island is very developed and westernised.
- TEMPLES OF AYUTTHAYA - The beautiful city of Ayutthaya was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong and was the capital of what was then known as Siam.
