Itinerary

  • Day 1: Athens – Olympia

    Leave by the coastal road via the Corinth Canal to visit the ancient Theatre of Epidavros, with its remarkable acoustics. Proceed to Nafplion, the citadel at Mycenae and the Tomb of Agamemnon, built around 1250 BC. The last leg of the journey is a scenic drive to Olympia. (D)

  • Day 2: Olympia – Delphi

    Explore the ancient site of Olympian Zeus, the stadium and informative archaeological museum. Travel through the plains of Iliad and Achaia until reaching the magnificent bridge crossing the Corinthian Bay. Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea, en-route to the popular town of Delphi. (B) (D)

  • Day 3: Delphi – Kalambaka

    A tour highlight, explore the archaeological site and museum of Delphi before departing for Kalambaka, with its dramatic backdrop, at the foot of the Meteroa complex. (B) (D)

  • Day 4: Meteroa – Thessaloniki

    Visit Meteora where ageless monasteries perch atop huge rock formations. Travel through the plain of Thessaly arriving at the archaeological park of Dion for exploration. Conclude the day in Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece.  (B) (D)

  • Day 5: Macedonia

    Depart this morning to explore Macedonia, a region steeped in culture and history. Stop en-route at Veria and stroll the old Jewish neighbourhood. Enjoy a scenic ride through the plateau of Western Macedonia and arrive at the picturesque town of Edessa. Uncover the exquisite floor mosaics of the 4th century BC villas in Pella before returning to Thessaloniki. (B) (D)

  • Day 6: Thessaloniki

    Participate in sightseeing of the city to visit unique monuments, feel the glorious Byzantine past in characteristic churches of the Christian world, and learn about its inspiration to artists, musicians and poets. Enjoy some time at leisure in the afternoon. (B) (D)

  • Day 7: Thessaloniki – Athens

    Drive to the small town of Vergina and see the astonishing findings from the tombs of King Phillip II, Alexander’s father. Afterwards, drive south back to Athens where your tour concludes. (B)
