Overview for Fiji

Where is Fiji?

The Fiji Islands lie about 4 hours flight north east of eastern Australia and are formed by a group of over 300 islands of which a population of over 750,000 inhabit some 100 islands. Most of the population lives on the two main islands of Viti Levu (home of Fiji’s capital, Suva and main gateway, Nadi airport) and Vanua Levu. The majority of the population is made up of native Melanesian Fijians and Indians descended from the indentured labourers who settled in Fiji in the late 1800’s.

You’ll enjoy your stay…

Fiji offers something for every holidaymaker. The main tourist areas on the island of Viti Levu are the Coral Coast and Mamanuca Islands which offer quality accommodation ideal for short interludes or a relaxing family holiday. Fiji is not just about lying on the beach (although you can do that too), there are an array of holiday experiences available including self-drive holidays, diving sites abound or island hopping by air or sea with sailing and cruise operators, to name just a few.

The northern islands of Vanua Levu and Taveuni offer natural beauty both under and above the water and are popular with divers, bushwalkers and nature lovers.
