For a country known for its mountains and trekking, Nepal also has one of the best national parks for wildlife-viewing in Asia. Chitwan, which means ‘Heart of the Jungle’, was the first national park in Nepal and is a sanctuary and home to the world’s largest terrestrial animal, the wild elephant. If you’re lucky, you can also spot leopards, deer, monkeys and sloth bears.
