Day 1

Siem Reap - Battambang

This morning you will be driven to Battambang. Head towards Phnom Sampeau, one of the few hills standing out in this pancake-flat plain, enjoying fantastic views of paddy fields and sugar palms. See clouds of bats emerge from a nearby cave at sunset.

Day 2

Spend the morning walking, boating and cycling along the Sangke River as you soak up Battambang daily life. A tour of the main market, Psar Nath includes trying a local coffee. Visit Wat Povil temple and meet the monks. Cycle a short distance to Wat Kor village and visit a historic home. Lunch at Fresh Eats Café is run by a non-profit NGO assisting young Khmer from disadvantaged families. This evening a special performance awaits you at Phare Ponleu Selpak School of Music, Visual and Performing Arts. (B)(L)

Day 3

Battambang - Siem Reap

Depart Battambang for the drive to Banteay Chhmar, probably the most stunning temple site outside of the Angkor area, with very few visitors. Take a local tractor-style vehicle called a ‘kuyon’ to the Banteay Top temple. Continue to Siem Reap where your journey ends. (B)(L)

NOTE: Phare Ponleu Selpak School only runs on Monday and Thursday evenings. Private performances may be available at a surcharge on other days.
