Arrive in Manitoba's vibrant capital and meet your expedition leader for a welcome dinner this evening. (D)
Fly to Churchill and transfer to the Tundra Lodge, watching for polar bears and other wildlife along the way. Here on the edge of Hudson Bay, where boreal forest gives way to Arctic tundra, animals abound, even in the harsh climate that envelops this environment much of the year. This evening, guides will share tips for capturing the best shots of Arctic wildlife and landscapes. (B)(L)(D)
Every fall, polar bears congregate in the vicinity of Churchill, waiting for the ice to freeze on Hudson Bay - and the Tundra Lodge gets frequent visitors of the polar bear variety. Staying directly on the tundra provides ideal early-morning and late-afternoon photo opportunities. Observation from the Tundra Lodge combined with excursions in Polar Rovers affords guests the best possible variety of wildlife encounters in the region. (B)(L)(D)
See Day 3.
Before departing, we have a chance for one more distinctively northern adventure: an authentic dog sled ride. Meet a local musher and his team for an exhilarating run through the boreal forest. (B)(L)(D)
