Day 1


Arrive in Kolkata and board the ship. In the afternoon visit Mother Theresa’s home memorial and the Missionaries of Charity orphanage she founded. Enjoy a cultural performance in the evening. (D)

Day 2


Enjoy an early-morning city tour, featuring the well-preserved British colonial buildings in Kolkata and visit Victoria Memorial Museum. Sail upstream through settlements made by the East India Company, some dating back to the 17th century. Visit Bandel’s Imambara, a colonial era Islamic school and pilgrim rest house on the riverbank. Day 3


Enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride to the Rajbari temples in Kalna. The temples were built in the 19th century and are covered with intricate terracotta reliefs of deities and humans. (B)(L)(D)

Day 4


Enjoy an early morning walk in the riverside village of Matiari, famous for its handcrafted brass and copperware. (B)(L)(D)

Day 5


Visit the Khushbagh, the beautiful garden cemetery of the family of the Nawabs of Bengal. Walk through local villages, including Baranagar which features beautiful terracotta temples. Sail to Murshidabad and visit the vast Neo-Classical Hazarduari Palace built in the 19th century by a British architect. Take a scenic buggy ride to the elegant 18th century. brick mosque at Katra. Day 6


Enjoy a leisurely morning of sailing before stopping at the village of Mayapur, which is the headquarters of the ISKCON movement, also known as the Hare Krishnas. Meet Krishna followers and walk through the pilgrims’ bazaar. (B)(L)(D)

Day 7


Visit Chandernagore, once a French colony and explore the French colonial buildings along the promenade. Return to the ship and continue the journey downstream to Kolkata. (B)(L)(D)

Day 8


Following breakfast, disembark and transfer to the Kolkata airport or hotel. (B)
