Arrive in Nairobi where you will be met by your ME to WE facilitator and transferred to your hotel, Karen Blixen Coffee Garden.
Visit the Kenya Giraffe Centre in the morning before flying to the Maasai Mara. Upon arrival in Bogani, you'll have a community orientation and learn about the work being done in the area, including the chance to learn and practice Swahili.
Join the women of the community, called mamas, as they share their traditional craft of beading with you. Engage in lively discussions and explore how projects such as beading empower these women to earn a sustainable income and provide for their families. Walk in the footsteps of a local mama on a journey to collect water from the Mara River and share lunch and work on building a school with community members.
Visit the Mulot Market, an authentic Kenyan Market. Continue working on the school building project and visit the Baraka medical Clinic and Medicinal Garden.
Watch the site progress on the school and meet the girls of Kisaruni Girls Secondary School. Enjoy a Sunset Maasai cultural story-telling.
Embark on a sunrise safari through the Masaai Mara before returning to the community to continue your work. Enjoy an afternoon of beading with the mamas in the Sikirar community.
Visit the indigenous tree nursery and search for souvenirs at the ME to WE Duka at Bogani. Then embark on an evening Maasai Mara sunset safari.
Finish your build project and finalise the work site. Spend the afternoon learning about local medicinal herbs and train in the art of Masaai weaponry.
Depart the Masaai Mara and take your flight back to Nairobi, where you can visit the ME to WE Atelier for afternoon tea before a farewell dinner at the Tribe Hotel.
