Day 1

Lahad Datu - Danum Valley

On arrival, be met and greeted at Lahad Datu Airport and transferred by 4WD into the Danum Valley – one of the world’s most complex ecosystems. Two-thirds of the 90 kilometre trip is on dirt roads through the vast Danum forests. On arrival, check in to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. In the afternoon relax or explore some of the trails surrounding the lodge. After dinner, board one of the open-top 4WD vehicles for an exhilarating wildlife night tour, where you may see deer, civets, owls, or even a Clouded leopard. (L)(D)

Day 2

Danum Valley

Wake up to the jungle’s cacophony of sounds ranging from birds to primates, such as Bornean gibbons. Taking a packed breakfast, travel to a 200-year-old Kadazandusun Burial Site, known as “Coffin Cliff”, along the 2.6 kilometre Viewpoint Trail. At the end of the trail, be rewarded with spectacular views over vast rainforests, before a waterfall visit. After lunch, there is time to relax or enjoy one of the many trails or canopy walk close to the lodge. This evening take a night time jungle walk with a local guide. (B)(L)(D)
