Venturing out on a set of established trails to minimize the impact on the tundra, you’ll go into areas with a high probability of wildlife sightings, in particular the incredible polar bear. In partnership with Polar Bears International, learn from an onboard researcher who can share fascinating facts and stories about these creatures. This trip also offers opportunities to meet and interact with some of the local characters who call Churchill home. Visit the kennel of a local Indigenous dog musher, and get to play with the puppies and experience dog sledding for yourself.

Day 1
Today is an easy arrival day. Our base hotel is located across the street from the airport terminal, so it's easy to get settled in. Winnipeg has lots to see and do, so we recommend extending your trip to explore some of the city. If time permits today, head into the city to do some exploring. Visit the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, the Journey to Churchill exhibit at Assiniboine Park, or perhaps pop into The Forks. This evening, meet your tour host and fellow travellers for a briefing on what lies ahead.
Day 2
Depart Winnipeg on a morning flight heading north to Churchill. For such a tiny community located on the shores of Hudson Bay, Churchill has a lot to offer visitors. Upon arrival, enjoy a city tour of Churchill and the surrounding areas including a stop at Polar Bears International House and the Parks Canada Visitor Centre. (B)(L)(D)
Day 3
Transfer this morning to the Tundra Buggy launching site, to board the Tundra Buggy and set off to explore in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Our Tundra Buggy Driver will navigate throughout the WMA, in search of polar bears and other arctic wildlife, while our knowledgeable interpretive guide will offer insights into the lives of these incredible animals. A delicious lunch will be served right out on the tundra. After our first full day, we'll return to town, where you will have time to explore further. (B)(L)(D)
Day 4
Today will give you the chance to experience a more cultural side of the north. In the morning, we will visit a local Indigenous dog musher for an exciting and informative dog sledding program. After lunch, we will visit the Parks Canada Interpretive Centre, to learn about the historical significance of Churchill. This afternoon, check out the Itsanitaq Museum, which contains one of Canada's finest collections of Inuit carvings and artefacts. (B)(L)(D)
Day 5
Today will offer a second opportunity to spend the day searching for local wildlife and incredible scenery. Travel back out to the Buggy launch site and board the Tundra Buggy for another full day in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area. In addition to the iconic polar bear, be on the lookout for arctic fox, ptarmigans, arctic hare, snowy owls and other wildlife found in the region. The tundra buggy offers an open viewing platform on the back deck, high enough to keep you safe, but offering incredible views and encounters with local wildlife. Later, you will be transferred to Churchill Airport for an evening flight back to Winnipeg. (B)(L)(D)
