Day 1

Whitehorse

Welcome to Canada’s Yukon Territory.  Explore the city of Whitehorse or take a walk along the majestic Yukon River. (D) 

Day 2

Skagway

Travel down the Klondike Highway to the historic Alaskan town of Skagway. Witness the extraordinary colours of Emerald Lake, the scenic lakeside village of Carcross, the famous White Pass and the Pacific coast. 

Day 3

Whitehorse - Watson Lake

Enjoy some more time to explore the capital, including a visit of the authentic S.S.Klondike paddle wheeler. The road trip to Yellowknife officially begins on the popular Alaska Highway. Arrive in Watson Lake in the evening where there is opportunity to visit the Northern Lights Space and Science Centre.

Day 4

Watson Lake - Munch Lake Provincial Park

Watson Lake is home to the famous Sign Post Forest that has currently over 72,000 signs from all around the globe. Continue on to the fabulous Rocky Mountains, an iconic landscape that offers a good chance to see more wildlife deep in the Muskwa-Kechika National Park. 

Day 5

Munch Lake Provincial Park

This is a perfect day to enjoy all the outdoor opportunities and the magnificent surroundings. Hike in the beautiful provincial park or paddle in a canoe on Muncho Lake.

Day 6

Munch Lake Provincial Park - Fort Nelson

Along the drive today, it is almost impossible not to see animals. In the remote north-east part of British Columbia, you can find mountain goats, bison, moose, caribou, elk, wolves, coyotes, fox, lynx and bears. 

Day 7

Forst Nelson - Fort Simpson

Depart Fort Nelson on the Liard Highway, which offers panoramic views of the Nahanni Mountains and the Liard River, especially in Blackstone Territorial Park. Fort Simpson, located at the confluence of the Liard and the Mackenzie Rivers, is the main hub for tours in Nahanni National Park.  

Day 8

Fort Simpson

Options for exploration from Fort Simpson abound. Highly recommended is an optional sightseeing flight over the Nahanni National Park, which includes a landing close to the breathtaking Virginia Falls. Explore Fort Simpson, take a boat ride on the Mackenzie River, paddle the South Nahanni, the Flat River, or hike on one of the many beautiful trails.

Day 10

Fort Simson - Hay River

After breakfast, travel to Hay River, the starting point of many tours going to the Great Slave Lake, and popular for the ‘Ice Pilots’ TV show. (L)

Day 11

Hay River

Enjoy a trip to Twin Falls Gorge Territorial Park for a short hike between Alexandra and Louise Falls. The unique falls paved their way through a 400 million year old rock and is the pride of the Dene First Nations. 

Day 12

Fort Providence

Take a fishing boat ride on the Great Slave Lake before heading to Fort Providence. 

Day 13

Fort Providence - Yellowknife

The drive to Yellowknife travels through the Mackenzie Bison Sanctuary. Yellowknife is not only the capital of the Northwest Territories, it is also known as the diamond capital. This small city has 90 diverse nations and therefore, a truly unique atmosphere. (L) 

Day 14

Yellowknife

Travel on the Ingraham Trail (of ‘Ice Road Truckers’ fame) to visit Cameron Falls and Prelude Lake.

Day 15

Yellowknife
