Arrive in Bergen today at any time and check in to your hotel.
Following breakfast, enjoy a 3-hour private walking tour in the beautiful Hanseatic town on the west coast of Norway, visiting the fish market, the old Hanseatic warehouses, the cathedral and many charming wooden houses. Take a ride by the funicular to Mount Fløyen for a panoramic view of Norway. (B)
In the morning, make your way to the railway station, located at approximately 100 meters from your hotel, to board your train bound for Voss. You will continue with a coach trip to Gudvangen (which includes the steep hairpin curves of Stalheimskleiva from May to September). From Gudvangen you go by boat through the Nærøyfjord UNESCO landscapes to Flåm. Surrounded by towering mountains up to 1,700 metres high, Nærøyfjord is the narrowest and best known of the many arms of the Sognefjord. With its steep mountainsides, hanging valleys, towering peaks, snowfields, waterfalls and small hamlets, this fjord is perhaps the most outstanding natural attraction in Norway. Arrival to Flåm pier, where it is a short walk to your hotel. (B)(D)
Continue your journey to the mountain station of Myrdal by the Flåm Railway, a spectacular train journey that offers a panoramic view of some of the most magnificent landscapes of Norway. There you will change to your train to Oslo. (B)
Meet your local guide and enjoy a 3-hour sightseeing by private vehicle. You will start the day driving to the Bygdøy peninsula where you will visit the Viking Ship Museum, with the world's best-preserved Viking Ship, and exhibitions of Ship burials of the Viking Age and unique Viking woodcraft, just some of the highlights of this must-see museum. Continue your drive through Oslo, passing such national landmarks as the Parliament building, with its two imposing lion statues at the main entrance, the National Theatre and the magnificent Royal Palace, official residence of the present Norwegian Monarch. Your tour will take you outside of the city through charming suburban areas where beautiful homes are set within manicured gardens. A guided walk through the extraordinary Vigeland Sculpture Park, the largest sculpture park in the world created by one single artist, is invigorating and inspiring. The park covers eighty acres and was designed by renowned Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland who created the over 200 iron and bronze statues. The sculptures artistically depict a complete human lifecycle from birth to death and are displayed in five different areas throughout the park. The gardens are vast and Vigeland also designed the impressive lawns and straight avenues flanked by maple trees perfect for strolling. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. (B)
