Day by day Itinerary of

Ancient Cities of Yunnan

Day 1


On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

Kunming - Dali

Transfer to Dali, the home of the Bai ethnic minorities. On arrival you can bike around the area with its beautiful lakeside vistas and see the local Bai fisherman. (B)

Day 3

Dali - Shaxi

Visit Dali’s old town where you can still see a few typical Bai homes. Continue to the Three Pagodas at Chongsheng Temple. You will then journey by road to Shaxi that used to be a major stop on the Tea Horse Road. (B)(L)

Day 4


Enjoy a free morning in Shaxi to explore the maze of paved avenues of the old town. Or alternatively head into the surrounding countryside which is notable for the traditional earthen brick houses. After lunch, continue to Shibaoshan, an impressive collection of temples, caves and stone sculptures. Finish the day with a valley and village walk. (B)

Day 5

Shaxi - Lijiang

Travel by road to Lijiang, famous for its labyrinth of houses, canals and cobbled streets. Also visit Lion Hill, Mu Palace and Black Dragon Pond. (B)

Day 6

Lijiang - Kunming

Heading back to Kunming, you will first stop at Jade Dragon Mountain. Continue the drive to Kunming Airport where your trip ends. (B)(L)
