Day by day Itinerary of

Classic Polar Bear Photo Adventure

Day 1

Winnipeg

Arrive in Winnipeg on the eastern edge of the prairie. Meet your expedition leader at an orientation dinner this evening. (D)

Day 2

Winnipeg to Churchill

Fly to Churchill, a hospitable outpost town that was originally a Hudson's Bay Company fur-trading post. This evening attend a lecture on Arctic photography. (B)(L)(D)

Day 3

Churchill

Rise early to board the Polar Rover, which can get within prime photography range of the polar bears on the open tundra. With a maximum of 16 guests, everyone has plenty of room to shoot. Spend three full days photographing polar bears as they roam the edge of Hudson Bay waiting for the ice to freeze and the winter seal-hunting season to begin. Other northern wildlife including Arctic fox, Arctic hare, snowy owl, ptarmigan and gyrfalcon may also be spotted. (B)(L)(D)

Day 6

Churchill - Winnipeg

Meet a local musher and his team, spending time with the frisky dogs before being pulled behind them on an exhilarating ride through the boreal forest. If time permits, visit nearby Cape Merry, a promising spot for photographing Arctic fox, hare and birdlife. (B)(L)(D)

Day 7

Winnipeg

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure. (B)
