Phuket’s landscape is one of lush green hills, coconut groves and rubber plantations, with a coastline dotted with a dozen spectacular beaches. Please board your Star Clippers Tall Ship at Patong Bay, Phuket between 3pm and 5pm. A transfer from your Phuket hotel or the Phuket airport to your Tall Ship is not included in the trip package but can be purchased at an additional cost at the time of booking. (D)
These islands are close to the Malaysian island of Langkawi and are characterised by towering rock formations and beautiful beaches. Ko Butang is a small, remote island covered with lush rainforest and fringed with pristine white sandy beaches. Ko Adang has brooding, densely forested hills, white-sand beaches and healthy coral reefs. (B)(L)(D)
Penang’s capital, Georgetown, bears the stamp of a mixture of foreign influences and boasts ornate mosques, slick cafes, jungles and white beaches. In total contrast, this beautiful island is also home to one of the finest Buddhist temples in south-east Asia, Kek Lok Si Temple. (B)(L)(D)
Protected by the Ko Tarutao National Park, this 61-island archipelago is only a stone’s throw from the Malaysian border and way, way off the radar screen of most tourists. The only habitations on Ko Adang are the Park offices and since there aren’t many visitors, the pristine beaches and deserted coves are all yours. (B)(L)(D)
There are almost no people living on Ko Rok Noi, only the Marine Park Rangers reside here, leaving the islands to remain unspoiled. Ko Rok Noi has some beautiful beaches and colourful reefs to offer, Ao Man Sai Beach in particular is ranked in the top ten most beautiful beaches in Thailand. (B)(L)(D)
The sheer-sided sea mountains that rise vertically out of Phang Nga Bay form some of Thailand’s most spectacular scenery. The islands in this region feature wonderful white sandy beaches and superb coral reefs.
Accessible only by sea, the Similan Islands (which Ko Miang is a part of), are stunningly beautiful with scenes straight out of your dreams of a tropical paradise. (B)(L)(D)
