Day 1
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2
Start the day with a cooking class of northern specialty foods at a chef's private residence. In the afternoon take a city tour of the Old Quarter, Temple of Literature and the Ethnology Museum. (B)(L)(D)
Day 3
Travel to Halong Bay and board your junk. Lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay itself. In the afternoon, enjoy some activities or just spend some time relaxing on board. (B)(L)(D)
Day 4
Cruise back to the pier and return to Hanoi in time to board your flight to Danang and transfer to Hoi An. (B)
Day 5
Take a short bicycle ride through rice paddies to the countryside (a vehicle can be arranged for those preferring not to cycle) to learn about rice cultivation with a local farming family. Enjoy lunch with the host family before riding back to the hotel. (B)(L)
Day 6
In the morning, explore Hoi An on foot to discover the charming, old-world trading port of narrow streets and traditional houses. In the afternoon, drive through Danang and climb over the Pass of Ocean Clouds to Lang Co after visiting the Cham Museum, which contains the finest collection of Cham sculptures in the world. Enjoy dinner at one of the many charming local restaurants. (B)(D)
Day 7
Day 8
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). In the afternoon, explore Saigon's landmarks and hidden charm, starting at the Old Post Office, the Central Market, and admiring colonial era architecture. Stop for a coffee and meet some of the character's of the city as you wander the streets. This evening experience local delicacies on a street eats tour. (B)(D)
Day 9
Head for the Mekong today for an in-depth experience around the Ben Tre area. See local industries including coconut and mat weaving family workshops. Meet Uncle Tam Nhu at his orchard and enjoy some fresh bites of fruit. Board a sampan and ride through the labyrinth of canals before heading to Mrs Mai's for lunch, where you can also kayak, cycle the village or relax before returning to Saigon. (B)(L)
Day 10
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure. (B)
