Day 1

Vancouver - Jasper

This evening, board VIA Rail’s ‘Canadian’ for the journey to the majestic Canadian Rockies in your own private sleeper cabin. Travel back in time to the days of classic rail travel. Visit the Dome Car where you will experience the true essence of travelling by train as a panoramic scene sweeps by. In the evening attendants transform your quarters into a bedroom.

Day 2

VIA Rail - Jasper

By the time you awake the train will have departed Kamloops travelling towards the Canadian Rockies. Enjoy breakfast while surrounded by dramatic scenery through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Travel into the Canadian Rockies with views of snow-capped peaks, Pyramid Falls and expansive glaciers. Pass by Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. (B) (L)

Day 3


Today is free to explore Jasper before departing this evening to experience the environs of Jasper, and some amazing close-up photo opportunities of wildlife.

Day 4

Jasper - Moraine Lake

Travel by luxury SUV today via one of the most scenic highways in North America - the Icefields Parkway. Visit the Columbia Icefield, to enjoy an Ice Explorer ride on the Athabasca Glacier, and experience the award-winning Glacier Skywalk. Continue along the Icefields Parkway where stops will be made at Bow & Peyto Lakes, the Crowfoot Glacier and the Athabasca Falls.

Day 5

Moraine Lake - Banff

Depart Moraine Lake for a ½ day tour to Banff. Highlights include the Hoodoos, Surprise Corner, Sulphur Mountain Gondola, and Tunnel Mountain Drive - which overlooks the splendour of Bow Valley. (B)

Day 6

Banff - Kamloops

All aboard Rocky Mountaineer for the scenic rail journey to Kamloops. As the train crosses over the continental divide you pass through the spiral tunnels in Yoho National Park. Continue on through the Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park with endless views of snow-capped mountains and stunning glaciers. (B) (L)

Day 7

Kamloops - Vancouver

Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer and follow the Thompson River. Pass through Rainbow Canyon with its cliffs striped with pinks, greens and greys creating a stunning effect. Continue on to the Fraser Canyon where at Hell’s Gate you will observe a water torrent past the canyon walls at its narrowest point. Arrive in the Pacific port of Vancouver late afternoon. (B) (L)
